CARE GUIDE
General Maintenance
Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the wood to fade and dry out. Place items out of the way of extreme conditions which will prevent the products warping or cracking.
Cleaning:
Mild Soap Solution: Mix a small amount of mild dish soap with warm water. Dampen a soft cloth with the solution and wipe the surface gently.
Avoid Soaking: Do not soak the wood in water or use excessive amounts of water during cleaning. Always use a damp, not wet, cloth.
Dry Immediately: After cleaning, immediately dry the surface with a clean, dry cloth to prevent moisture damage.
Mineral Food-Grade Wood Oil:
Oiling: Once every month (dependant on usage), apply a thin layer of food grade mineral oil to condition the wood. This helps maintain its quality and prevents drying as well as restoring its quality and looks.
Application: Apply the oil with a lint free cloth, following the grain of the wood. Allow it to sit for a few minutes, then buff with a clean, dry cloth.
Handling Spills and Stains:
Immediate Action: Wipe up spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth to prevent staining.
Stubborn Stains: For tougher stains, mix baking soda with water to form a paste. Gently rub the paste on the stain with a soft cloth, then wipe clean and dry thoroughly.
Storage:
Stable Environment: Store acacia wood items in a stable environment with moderate temperature and humidity. Avoid extreme conditions that can cause the wood to warp or crack.
Air Circulation: Ensure good air circulation around stored items to prevent mould and mildew growth.
